A Vibrant Day of Giving at the HIWC Bazaar

The grounds of St. Paul American School in Hanoi turned into a global village on 27 November 2016 when the Hanoi International Women’s Club (HIWC) organized its 25th Annual Charity Bazaar. Between 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM thousands of people visited to experience a lively atmosphere with music and cultural events and global food and charitable activities.

Asian Tigers Group Hanoi had the privilege to be among the main sponsors of this highly popular charity event. Our involvement demonstrated both our organizational backing for community programs and our fundamental business value of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The Hanoi international community joined forces with our organization to collect more than $100,000 USD during this event which would be used to assist Vietnamese people in need.

What is the HIWC Bazaar?

The Hanoi International Women’s Club organizes the HIWC Bazaar as an annual fundraising event through its nonprofit organization led by women volunteers. The Bazaar has operated for 25 years as Hanoi’s biggest multicultural charity event dedicated to collecting funds for grassroots organizations that help disadvantaged communities throughout Vietnam.

Every year the Bazaar unites expat groups, embassies, local artisans, NGOs, and corporate partners for a festive celebration that promotes diversity and philanthropy through multicultural experiences. Visitors get to enjoy international food and culture and fashion and entertainment while participating in a meaningful charitable event.

The 25th anniversary of the Bazaar established itself as a landmark event that showcased HIWC’s dedication to charity while celebrating thousands of lives improved through their efforts.

A Proud Partnership: Asian Tigers Hanoi as a Lead Sponsor

Asian Tigers Group Hanoi served as one of the main supporters of the 2016 Bazaar through both event organization and fundraising activities. Our team actively contributed to the event’s success through assistance with setup operations and sponsorship support and family-friendly activities.

Our organization dedicated itself to community involvement while performing social obligations toward the local population we serve. With extensive experience moving people across Asia during the last few decades we have learned that building connected communities is vital for cities where locals and expats unite their efforts in places such as Hanoi.

Around the World in One Day: Global Gastronomy and Culture

The international food court stood as a main event attraction by offering 40 booths showcasing global cuisine options. Guests tasted Italian pasta and French pastries alongside Mexican tacos and Indian curries and Korean BBQ and Vietnamese delicacies.

Embassy staff and cultural associations together with volunteers presented themselves in traditional attire to create an immersive international experience. Booths throughout the event displayed both cultural crafts and handmade goods as well as artistic creations which showcased traditional elements from different nations.

People walked through the diverse food stalls while discovering worldwide traditions and developing new friendships while experiencing various international foods. The Bazaar functioned as a celebration of Hanoi’s expanding international community which fostered cultural understanding and friendships.

Live Entertainment and Art from Across the World

The main stage presented live performances by musicians and artists throughout the day who came from different international locations. Guests were treated to:

  • Traditional dances from Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines
  • A Japanese taiko drum performance
  • A Latin-American salsa dance demonstration
  • Modern pop and jazz music from local bands and expat performers
  • A dynamic hip-hop group featuring youth performers from Hanoi

The event presented a diverse selection of acts that celebrated both cultural diversity from participating communities and the creative partnerships within the HIWC network.

A Fun Day for the Whole Family

The 25th Annual Charity Bazaar catered to families while providing entertainment that suited every age group. The day provided children with non-stop excitement as they enjoyed games together with entertainment. The children’s area at the event featured face painting activities together with carnival games and a bouncing castle and arts and crafts stations.

The Asian Tigers mascot became the most popular attraction for children at the event through his appearance at the grounds where he took pictures and performed entertaining movements. Our team distributed small giveaways along with balloons which created more excitement at the event.

These basic details created an inclusive atmosphere of joy for families to produce enduring memories for both children and adults.

A Record-Breaking Fundraising Success

The core essence of the event focused on collecting funds for charity purposes. The HIWC Bazaar collected more than $100,000 USD during its one-day event because of sponsor and vendor and guest donations. The collected funds went to support HIWC’s community development grant program which funds healthcare initiatives and education programs and women’s empowerment projects and poverty alleviation projects across Vietnam.

Past Bazaar fundraising has supported various organizations through these projects:

  • Medical outreach programs for rural children
  • Scholarships for disadvantaged students
  • Shelter improvements for women and children in crisis
  • Vocational training for people with disabilities

The event funds generated tangible improvements which benefited communities that lack public attention. Asian Tigers demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by supporting these efforts while confirming its role as a caring business organization.

Building Bridges in the Hanoi Community

The 2016 HIWC Bazaar served Asian Tigers Hanoi as a day of charity while showing the strength that emerges from united people who share compassionate goals.
