Asian Tigers Thailand Proudly Sponsors a Vibrant Fundraiser
Asian Tigers Group Thailand is glad to announce its sponsorship of Colour Miles for Smiles 2016, taking place on the 9th of April 2016. Colourful and charitable, it is a 5k run specially designed by 15 international schools in Bangkok. The event brought out extremely well the community and philanthropic spirit booming within the city. This year, the race opened its gates to 2,500 eager runners, all ready to spread colour and excitement throughout the meaningful experience.
Student Leadership in Action
Not only is Colour Miles for Smiles a fun run, it epitomizes student leadership—a student-led fundraiser paralleling the dedication and leadership qualities that young leaders hold from some of the international schools here in Bangkok. Students who have managed the event so as to bring satisfaction and fun to all participating, while at the same time out of a worthwhile cause, they raise awareness and raise funds. The funds to be raised will then be donated to Operation Smile Thailand, a nongovernmental organization committed to providing free surgeries to children born with cleft lip, cleft palate, and other facial deformities.
Operation Smile Thailand has been a beacon of hope to so many families across the country. The mission of the organization is that every child, regardless of background and socio-economic status, should have the chance to smile like everybody else with confidence. Operations done by Operation Smile are life-changing, giving the children the possibility for a healthier and happier life without the taunting stigma or health complications associated with the facial deformity left untreated.
A Powerful Example of Corporate Social Responsibility
The Colour Miles for Smiles 2016 event, sponsored by Asian Tigers Group Thailand, allows partners the opportunity to show their corporate social responsibility commitment apart from the core business and remain committed to sponsoring initiatives that make tangible differences to individual and community lives. Through active participation in this type of event, the company would be driven by a strong belief in the power of teamwork and that whenever the opportunity arises, giving back to society is always very necessary.
The event day turned out to be a riot of colors, smiling faces, and community spirit. Participants of all age groups started as early as in the morning, clad in white T-shirts that would be drenched with rainbow colors soon enough. As the race began, the runners were bombarded with explosive bursts of colored powder at several points along the way, painting the streets in every vivid hue imaginable. It was electric—this sound of raised laughter and happy cheers in the air, binding runners together.
Success for the Colour Miles for Smiles 2016 event was directly attributed to combined efforts from the international schools, students, sponsors, and volunteers who gave their time and money to make this piece of history happen. The efforts put in not only raised funds but consequently were able to raise awareness about the need to address facial deformities.
This was in addition to the run; other activities included in this event were live music, food stalls, and many games—sufficient for one to enjoy a whole day. These added attractions helped to attract more participants and viewers, thereby further increasing its reach and impact.
This was such an overwhelming event for them, and Asian Tigers Group Thailand would like to extend its appreciation to all who had a part in the Colour Miles for Smiles 2016, which really did become an exception. It looks forward to continuing its support for initiatives that bring positive change to communities and enhance life for those in need.
The Colour Miles for Smiles event shows rather vividly the overwhelming change that can be created when communities pull together towards one cause. On this basis, Asian Tigers Group Thailand will continue creating awareness in duplicating a culture of compassion, generosity, and social responsibility.
