Asian Tigers Singapore has completed and put into service a fully functional, state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic system in January 2023. It marks yet another milestone towards their continuous quest for sustainability. It represents the seriousness of the company in keeping up with evolving ESG practices while making substantial investments in renewable energy to fight against climate change.
The newly installed solar PV System installs 665 panels, which are strategically placed to attain maximal exposure to sunlight. These panels have been installed to cover a massive area of 1,718 square meters on the company’s roof and reflective of Asian Tigers Singapore’s foresightedness in taking concrete and decisive action toward reducing the CFE of its operation. More importantly, since the energy drawn from these panels is used in multiple aspects of its operation, it underscores the versatility and impact of that renewable source of energy.
One of the main applications for the power produced by the very solar system is to recharge the electric-powered fleet of forklifts that belong to the company. This act creates not only improved operational efficiency but also reduced dependence on fossil fuels, which cleans the environment. In other words, this means powering the electric forklift with energy harnessed from solar energy enables Asian Tigers Singapore to keep seamless logistic operations while drastically reducing emissions.
In the same way, the solar PV system powers electric forklifts at the company and preserves its temperature-controlled storage spaces. Those are specially designed storage spaces, housing sensitive equipment which requires strict temperature control. With the integration of solar power in these areas, the storage areas exude energy efficiency and sustainability, cutting down on the carbon footprint of the company’s storage facilities.
The solar PV system shall also benefit the electric-powered carpentry section of the company. Most carpentry operations require a lot of energy; however, with the use of solar power, Asian Tigers Singapore can carry out such activities on a sustainable basis. This shift increases the environmental friendliness and at the same time becomes a benchmark which most companies within the industry follow.
The newly installed solar panels at Asian Tigers Singapore also power their warehouse and office spaces. By integrating solar energy into these spaces, the company is insured that its day-to-day operational activities are supported by a clean, renewable energy source. This move into solar power thus becomes one of the strategic steps the company is taking toward achieving sustainability and operational efficiency.
Containing CO2 emissions due to this investment in solar PV technology is one of the most important results. Asian Tigers Singapore has committed to avoiding 131 tons of indirect CO2 annually by generating its own renewable energy. This figure underlines a reduction in environmental impact for its business and makes pertinent contributions towards easing global climate change.
The investment that Asian Tigers Singapore is making in solar PV technology is therefore not taken solely as a business decision but resonates with intrinsic values regarding the company’s commitment to matters of sustainability. In getting its operations powered by renewable energy, the company is better placed to enhance its operational capabilities while at the same time setting a benchmark for responsible business practice within the logistics industry.
This is just a part of the broader strategy for the integration of ESG principles within all various operations at Asian Tigers Singapore. The way it actively works towards integrating sustainability into its operations shows that a future with present concern for environmental protection can be achieved. Moving ahead with fresh and sustainable solutions, Asian Tigers Singapore will set powerful examples for others to follow in its footsteps.
In summary, the commissioning of the solar PV system in January 2023 is another sustainability-related milestone for Asian Tigers Singapore. With an installed capacity of 665 panels spread out over a total area of 1,718 square meters, this system powers various operations that potentially reduce CO2 emissions significantly. This showcases a sense of responsibility toward ESG values and a leadership initiative in leading the way toward sustainable business practices for the firm.
