Asian Tigers Indonesia Supports Emergency Relief for Flood-Affected Communities in Sumatra

Jakarta, December 15, 2025 – When disaster strikes, fast and reliable logistics can mean the difference between vulnerability and relief. At Asian Tigers Indonesia, we are proud to have played a role in supporting emergency flood relief efforts for affected communities across Sumatra, where devastating floods have displaced families, damaged homes, and disrupted daily life for hundreds of thousands.

In collaboration with Archipelago and with the critical support of KOLINLAMIL, the Sea Transportation Command of the Indonesian Navy, our teams mobilized quickly to deliver essential aid: drawing on our core strengths as a trusted moving and logistics company.

This initiative reflects more than our capability. It reflects our commitment: when people need help the most, we move with purpose.

Responding to Crisis with Action

The recent flooding across parts of Sumatra has caused widespread destruction. Flooded roads, damaged bridges, power outages, and unsafe water supplies have created a humanitarian emergency affecting both urban and rural communities. Thousands of homes were submerged, and public infrastructure was left in urgent need of repair.

As reports came in and local organizations began mobilizing, Archipelago, a socially driven organization with deep community roots, led the effort to organize relief supplies and coordinated ground efforts. Asian Tigers Indonesia was honored to be asked to provide logistics assistance, alongside KOLINLAMIL and local volunteers.

Our role was clear: deliver critical supplies quickly, safely, and efficiently to those who needed them most.

Logistics in Motion: From Port to People

Working out of Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta, our team coordinated the transfer and loading of large-scale shipments of aid materials, ensuring secure handling and efficient turnaround despite the high urgency and complex conditions.

We facilitated the movement of:

• Food staples (rice, canned goods, instant noodles)
• Clean drinking water and purification tablets
• Hygiene kits including soap, sanitary products, and cleaning supplies
• Bedding materials, linens, and towels
• Baby care essentials, including diapers and formula
• Emergency gear such as tarps, flashlights, and first-aid kits

With the help of KOLINLAMIL’s naval transport capabilities, these items were then shipped and distributed across some of the most heavily impacted regions in Sumatra.

This kind of end-to-end logistics support is part of what Asian Tigers excels at; not only for international relocations, but also in moments that demand speed, accuracy, and a human touch.
