2024 FIDI Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland
The Asian Tigers Group delegation learned, laughed and dressed up at this year’s FIDI Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. Speaking of the popularity of this destination, this was the first FIDI Conference that needed to be capped and the whole week was steeped in Scottish culture. Being the first city to have a fire service established 200 years ago, the home of the inventor of the first telephone and the first place a living mammal, Dolly, was cloned, it was fitting that Edinburough was the first FIDI Conference for the new FIDI President, Derek Duffy.
Here are the stats:
650 delegates
530 at the welcome reception in Edinburgh Castle
547 at Roll Call
575 attended the gala dinner
Alongside the conference gala and some outstanding panel discussions, the Asian Tigers Group delegation visited the World Museum of Golf, Edinburgh Castle, and of course, a mixed bagpipe of Scottish attire.
The FIDI 39 Club Board hosted a valuable discussion on what prospective staff expect from their employers today. Our own Chairman, and FIDI board member, Gordon Bell, participated in the FIDI 39 Club’s panel discussion on How to build a young, resilient workforce of movers.
The entire conference was a resounding success with outgoing surveys suggesting the vast majority wish to attend next year’s conference in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
