Asian Tigers China Proudly Facilitates Charitable Donation Initiative

At Asian Tigers, we move more than boxes. We move with heart. That belief was on full display recently in Shanghai, where Asian Tigers China partnered with Central Residences to organize a meaningful community donation drive in support of local charitable causes.

Held in late October and culminating in a successful collection on November 4, 2025, the initiative brought together more than 30 families residing at Central Residences, all motivated by a shared desire to give back to the broader community. What started as a modest idea grew into a truckload of donations: filled with gently used clothing, books, shoes, toys, and other valuable goods.

This collective effort showcased the spirit of community, and Asian Tigers China was proud to take the lead in ensuring the donations reached the right hands, delivering them to Heart to Heart, a well-respected organization that supports children with congenital heart disease in China. The response from Heart to Heart was filled with heartfelt appreciation, recognizing both the generosity of the residents and the coordination by Asian Tigers.

A Community Comes Together

Central Residences is home to many expatriate and local families, many of whom understand the privilege of having more than enough and the responsibility of sharing with those in need. When approached with the idea of a donation initiative, residents responded with enthusiasm.

Over the span of several days, donations began to pour in. Families brought out boxes of winter clothes, stacks of children’s books, unused toys, gently worn shoes, and household items still in excellent condition.

Some families even got their children involved in the selection process, explaining the importance of giving and choosing toys and books they no longer used, but hoped would bring joy to others.

This engagement didn’t just result in material support. It sparked conversations about compassion, empathy, and making a positive impact right at home in Shanghai.

Asian Tigers China: More Than Just Movers

But relocation also reveals something else: the number of useful items that no longer serve a purpose for their owners, yet could be life-changing for someone else.

That’s why Asian Tigers has long supported donation programs: by offering to collect, sort, and distribute these items on behalf of our clients. Instead of adding to landfills, these goods are redirected to places where they’re needed most: orphanages, rural schools, institutions supporting individuals with disabilities, and local charities doing essential work.

During this drive, our team provided:

• Transport coordination for pick-up and delivery
• Sorting assistance to ensure donations were ready for their new homes
• Communication support to engage residents and ensure smooth participation

By leveraging our logistical network, we made it easy for families to contribute: turning the act of giving into a simple but powerful step toward social good.

The Heart to Heart Connection

The donations gathered during the drive were delivered to Heart to Heart, a Shanghai-based non-profit that funds life-saving heart surgeries for children from underprivileged families across China. The organization also runs programs to support recovery, provide educational resources, and bring smiles to the faces of children undergoing treatment.

Heart to Heart expressed deep gratitude for the volume and quality of the donations received. Clothing and toys, in particular, are highly valued, as they help children feel a sense of comfort and normalcy during long recovery periods in hospitals.
