On 24 November 2018, Asian Tigers Malaysia proudly sponsored the 20th MASBA Christmas Dinner & Dance. More than 400 MASBA members and guests came to the Ritz−Carlton in Kuala Lumpur, this year’s location, to celebrate this milestone with style through the night in holiday tradition and with the camaraderie that only MASBA can offer.

The elegant mood of the Ritz Carlton was the perfect backdrop for this very anticipated event. Guests were greeted with a warm and festive feel that can only be associated with Christmas upon entry. The night opened up with a traditional Swedish welcome drink—Glögg, a spiced wine that set the perfect mood for the rest of the night.

The dinner offered several courses of standard Sweden dishes that must have tantalized the taste buds of all. Among these, gravlax, a lightly-cured salmon with a mustard-dill sauce, and Jansson’s Temptation, a traditional Swedish casserole that consists of potatoes, onions, anchovies, and cream, were crowd-pleasers. Paired with other traditional favorites, these dishes uplifted the culinary journey through the glories of Sweden’s rich gastronomic heritage. The food served was detailed and presented with precision, celebrating every bite of Swedish culture and tradition in it.

All guests savoured what had turned out to be a mouth-watering dinner, with vibrant conversation and laughter in the atmosphere. The dinner was a good opportunity for networking and building relationships in the Malaysian-Swedish business community. The shared experience of enjoying traditional Swedish cuisine brought them all together into one community.

The evening then moved to a party mood right after dinner with live dancing. The dance floor immediately filled to the beats of some old school hits. It then became vivid with old classic tunes and modern favorites, keeping people lively. Their expressions were full of joy and enthusiasm, and the energy could be felt ricocheting from them as happy revelers of all ages showcased their best dance moves to the end.
