Asian Tigers Singapore was delighted to sponsor the United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA) PACE Book Fair which was held on the 22nd of February in 2025. Every year, the Parents’ Association for Community Engagement (PACE) brings together students, staff, families and community partners to promote literacy, encourage environmental stewardship and support social causes. Our involvement in this event year after year is a clear demonstration of Asian Tigers’ commitment to education, community service, and responsible business practices.
Our Commitment to Community Engagement Has Been Long-Standing
Asian Tigers Singapore has always recognized the importance of engaging with the community in a positive manner. We are more than just a logistics company; we are a leading provider of international moving and relocation services and we believe in being a force for good in the communities we operate in. It is in line with this commitment that Asian Tigers Singapore supported the UWCSEA’s PACE Book Fair. We have developed a good working relationship with the school community over the years as we all share values such as sustainability, service, and social responsibility.
The PACE Book Fair is not only a school event, it is a community event that is about giving and learning. The community donates the books, the volunteers sort and display them and the buyers can buy the books at a very affordable price. The proceeds from the fair are used to support different service projects within the country and around the world to expand the reach of the UWCSEA community’s goodwill.
Yellow Reusable Bags for a Brighter Tomorrow
For the 2025 event, Asian Tigers Singapore brought our famous Yellow Reusable Bags which were given to the attendees. The bags were not only a good way to carry books but also a representation of our commitment to waste reduction and the adoption of eco-friendly practices. The bags were easily identifiable since they were of a bright color and had the Asian Tigers logo on them and they were used to make a statement about our support for sustainable usage of non-renewable resources such as plastics.
We also helped to minimize the impact on the environment of the event by providing reusable bags and enhancing the atmosphere of the event. It was a pleasant sight to see children, parents, and staff walking around the book fair with their yellow bags, each of them browsing through the tables of books looking for a story to add to their home libraries.
Support that Made a Difference in the Logistics
In addition to the bags, Asian Tigers Singapore also offered logistical support through the provision of reusable cartons during the post event. There were hundreds of books left after the fair was over; they were still in great shape and were ready to be shared with people who might need them. To make sure these books could continue to have an effect, the PACE team decided to donate them to the Salvation Army in Singapore.
We came in to assist with the delivery of good quality cartons to the UWCSEA campus so that the volunteers could easily sort and pack the books for donation. Our team delivered the cartons in the right condition at the right time to meet the needs of the school and the Salvation Army. As a company that is in the business of moving goods across the world, we know that even a small logistical support such as cartons can go a long way in making work easier for volunteers and to ensure that items are delivered to their next destination safely.
This kind of contribution may not look like much at first glance, but it is rather crucial in supporting events such as the PACE Book Fair. We provide community initiatives with reliable tools and timely assistance to help them work more effectively and sustainably.
Sincere Appreciation from the Sender
The UWCSEA PACE team appreciated our contribution. Nicole Bithos, a member of the committee, wrote: “Thank you for your kind donation and deliveries.” The heartfelt message stands as an important example of the mutual respect that defines our connection with UWCSEA. At Asian Tigers Singapore, we look at the success of our partnerships and the relationships we develop on our journey. The encouragement we derive from every thank you, handshake and shared goal compels us to keep on supporting the communities that put their trust in us.
Promoting Sustainability Through Book Reuse
The practice of giving books new life embodies our core values. Every book reuse reduces the consumption of resources while lowering waste in landfills and extending reading opportunities for new readers. Through the PACE Book Fair, we join an event that embodies sustainability practices while making them both fun and accessible to everyone.
As the world faces critical environmental issues that need prompt action, such initiatives for promoting reuse at these events help create new habits among future generations. The initiative perfectly matches Asian Tigers’ environmental sustainability goals which include waste reduction, reusable packing materials, and green logistics solutions.
The Power of Partnership
The PACE Book Fair demonstrates how educational institutions can team up with private sector organizations to create powerful partnerships. When educational institutions along with businesses and volunteers team up for a common purpose, they create a community with real capabilities to make impactful change.
UWCSEA’s commitment to service learning is well known. The school program includes educating students about social problems while encouraging them to participate in meaningful action and assess the outcomes of their work. A partnership between Asian Tigers Singapore and UWCSEA leads to stronger community programs because both entities work toward global citizenship.
Asian Tigers Singapore joins UWCSEA as both service provider and genuine partner in creating an educated, compassionate and sustainable world.
Looking Ahead
Asian Tigers Singapore will find new ways to support causes based on education sustainability and community impact throughout 2025 and future years. We continue our commitment to working with schools and non-profit organizations and community groups to create meaningful change where it matters most.
We supply materials while offering logistical help and participate in hands-on activities because we dedicate ourselves to developing social responsibility programs and creating more community engagement. Thoughtful collaboration combined with a shared service commitment leads to results like the UWCSEA PACE Book Fair.
We wish to thank the UWCSEA community and PACE volunteers for letting us participate in this meaningful initiative for the second time.
Asian Tigers Group is proud to be more than an international moving and relocation leader. We also serve as a community developer, sustainability advocate and education supporter. We collaborate with institutions such as UWCSEA to support our mission of community development alongside sustainability advocacy and educational advancement. We will keep our commitment to community service alive through book distribution and box delivery and initiative development as we advance with institutions such as UWCSEA.
