UWCSEA PACE Book Fair 2024
Going the Extra Mile: Journey to Cao Bang, Vietnam
After a four-year hiatus, the PACE Book Fair, hosted by the United World College South East Asia (UWCSEA), made a grand return, with support from Asian Tigers Singapore. The event, held at both the Dover and East campuses, was not just a celebration of reading but also an affirmation of the community’s commitment to sustainability and charity.
A Triumphant Return
The PACE Book Fair, eagerly anticipated by the UWCSEA community, drew in crowds eager to browse through a wide selection of pre-loved books. Asian Tigers Singapore provided reusable bags, ensuring that shoppers could carry their selected reads in an eco-friendly manner. This initiative perfectly aligned with the ethos of sustainability that both UWCSEA and Asian Tigers Singapore uphold.
Fostering a Culture of Giving and Sustainability
The PACE Book Fair was more than just a venue for buying and selling books; it was a powerful platform for fostering a culture of sustainability and a passion for reading. Funds raised during the event were channeled towards PACE, supporting various educational and charitable initiatives. Moreover, unsold books found new homes through donations to local and international charities, thus extending the life of the books and supporting UWCSEA’s Global Concerns and local service missions.
Gratitude to Volunteers
The heart and soul of the fair were the volunteers, whose dedication and hard work made this event a success. From sorting and setting up to selling and packing up, their efforts were invaluable. Asian Tigers Singapore extends a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to all the volunteers for their time, energy, and commitment, which were instrumental in the smooth execution of the book fair.
