Asian Tigers Thailand Celebrates National Children’s Day

Asian Tigers Thailand Celebrates National Children’s Day

Bangkok, January 10, 2026 – In Thailand, the second Saturday of January is more than just another weekend. It’s a day filled with laughter, color, and inspiration. National Children’s Day, or Wan Dek as it’s known locally, is a nationwide celebration dedicated to honoring the importance of children in shaping the future of the country. Since its inception in the 1950s, Children’s Day has become a meaningful and joyful tradition, inviting communities across the country to come together in recognition of youth, learning, and family values.

At Asian Tigers Group Thailand, we understand the role children play not just in the nation’s future, but in the heart of every home. As a company of professional movers, we see firsthand how important it is to support families in every way possible. This year, we proudly joined the celebration by organizing a meaningful donation to the HDF Mercy Centre, helping spread smiles to children in one of Bangkok’s most underserved communities.

What is National Children’s Day in Thailand?

National Children’s Day in Thailand is more than a festive occasion. It’s a platform to educate, empower, and celebrate the next generation. Held every year in January, it’s a day when children are placed at the center of attention. Schools, public parks, shopping malls, and even government buildings open their doors to host fun-filled activities such as:

  • Games and performances
  • Educational exhibitions
  • Rides in military vehicles
  • Visits to government offices
  • Toy and book giveaways

The Thai Prime Minister also releases an annual motto to motivate children across the country. This message is often centered around national pride, responsibility, and hope for the future, encouraging children to grow up with strong values and a sense of civic duty.

While the day brings plenty of fun and laughter, its deeper message is about the role adults play in shaping children’s lives with love, protection, education, and support.

Asian Tigers: Giving With Purpose

At Asian Tigers Thailand, our commitment to families goes beyond providing world-class relocation services. As a trusted moving company, we see firsthand how children are impacted during major life transitions, whether it’s moving to a new home, a new city, or a new country. That’s why we work hard to ensure that our services are always family-friendly, empathetic, and personalized.

But this commitment extends beyond our business operations. On Children’s Day 2025, we wanted to do more than just celebrate. We wanted to give back in a way that was direct, heartfelt, and impactful.

Donating Joy to HDF Mercy Centre

To mark the occasion, our team organized a toy and game donation drive for the HDF Mercy Centre, located in Klongtoey, one of Bangkok’s most densely populated and disadvantaged neighborhoods. The Mercy Centre is a long-standing foundation focused on early childhood education, health, and holistic care for vulnerable children.

We collected a wide variety of toys, dolls, books, puzzles, and games not just as gifts, but as tools for play, learning, and emotional support. Every item was chosen with the intention of creating joy, encouraging imagination, and giving children a chance to simply be kids on a day that belongs to them.

When our team delivered the donations, the response from the children was immediate: bright eyes, wide smiles, and a burst of energy that filled the room. Seeing that joy firsthand was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

Why Children’s Day Matters to Us

Relocation, at its core, is about transitioning to new chapters. And for children, these transitions can feel especially intense. Whether it’s adjusting to a new home, new friends, or a new school, the emotional weight of change is real. That’s why we make it a priority to understand and support children during every step of the moving process.

Children’s Day aligns beautifully with our values as a people-first company. It reminds us that children deserve recognition not just as future adults, but as important individuals right now with feelings, dreams, and potential that deserve to be nurtured.

Aligning Our Mission with Community Impact

Asian Tigers Thailand has always believed in being more than a service provider. We aim to be a responsible corporate citizen: one that actively contributes to the well-being of the communities we serve. Initiatives like this donation drive are part of a broader CSR strategy that includes:

  • Supporting schools and educational institutions during relocations
  • Sponsoring youth sports leagues, such as Bangkok Soccer League
  • Participating in cultural and charity events across Thailand
  • Championing sustainability through greener packaging and transport

By partnering with local charities like the Mercy Centre, we ensure that our impact goes beyond logistics and into real, lasting social value.

Celebrating With Purpose

This year’s Children’s Day celebration at the HDF Mercy Centre was a day of shared purpose, where team members, volunteers, and young children came together in celebration and support. The event wasn’t elaborate or flashy. It was simple, heartfelt, and joyful, and sometimes, that’s all it takes to make a lasting memory.

Our team members engaged directly with the children, playing games, distributing toys, and simply spending time with them. These moments of connection reminded us that while we work in an industry of movement, some of the most meaningful movements are emotional and personal.

Looking Ahead: Supporting the Future Together

As we look toward 2026 and beyond, we remain committed to creating and supporting initiatives that reflect our values: family, compassion, and community. We know that a single day of giving won’t change the world, but many small acts, done with intention and consistency, can.

To our clients, partners, and community: thank you for your trust and for allowing us to be part of your journeys. And to the children we celebrated this Children’s Day, thank you for reminding us what truly matters.

Let’s continue to build a future where every child feels valued, protected, and empowered.
