Date       4 Oct 2017

Time      11:00 am –

Venue   Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel

On 4 October 2017, Asian Tigers Malaysia was once again pleased to participate in the Pink October Lunch Bazaar, organized in collaboration with the Latin Ladies Association, American Association, and Canadian Association. This noble cause was held at the magnificent Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel, further raised through the creation of awareness and funds collected for breast cancer, a cause very close to many people’s hearts around the world.

The Pink October Lunch Bazaar was a very interactive and lively event that brought people of all walks of life together for a good cause. The lavish setup of the Sheraton Imperial was an apt setting for the activities of the day, as it added class to the ambiance but broke the ice with its warmth and camaraderie, binding people together in purpose.

As guests began to arrive, the view was that of the Asian Tigers Malaysia photo booth, which soon became an attraction. Decorated in hues of pink to symbolize the fight against breast cancer, the booth is decorated with props and backdrops that encourage memorable photos. These pictures not only served as memorabilia for these participants but also contributed significantly towards the awareness of the cause, since most attendees uploaded their pictures on social media with breast cancer awareness-related hashtags.

The photo booth was way more than just an activity to raise smiles; it was a gesture for unity and togetherness. From little children to elderly people, all ages stood in line to take pictures, making a montage of smiling faces epitomizing hope and the fighting spirit of the community. Asian Tigers Malaysia staff were present at the booth to ensure everybody is having a good time and the message pertaining to breast cancer awareness was very prominent.

After the photo booth session, guests were then treated to sumptuous lunch at the exquisitely decorated banquet hall of the hotel. Lunch was gastronomically delightful, with a smorgasbord of different dishes catering to various tastes. Programmatically, while one enjoyed the food during lunch, guests were treated to live music and other accompanying performances that set the festive tone of the afternoon. There was a feeling of unity and harmony; people dining together, conversing, sharing their stories and experiences about the breast cancer issue. During this event, some of the things it contained were shopping bazaars containing all types of items on sale, including handmade crafts and trinkets, clothes, and fine foods. Merchandise at the bazaar gave very good exposure to the attendees to shop for unique products while donating toward a noble cause, as the money from all sales was to be donated for breast cancer research and support services. The bazaar had certainly something for everyone with its array of different stalls, and enthusiastic participation by vendors and shoppers alike made this event a great success.

The message was loud and clear all through the day: Pink October Lunch Bazaar has been held to help create awareness on the issue of breast cancer and generate funds for it. Informational booths and displays told the attending public about resources and education on early detection, treatment options, and support networks. Moreover, the educational value of the event was further enhanced by health-care professionals and representatives from breast cancer organizations who provided the audience with the education to facilitate change in their own lives and in the lives of others.

The sponsorship by Asian Tigers Malaysia for the Pink October Lunch Bazaar reflected their corporate social responsibility toward community engagement. Partnering with the Latin Ladies Association, the American Association, and the Canadian Association helped the group further make a difference by spreading the cause through an even greater network of people and raising considerable support for breast cancer awareness and research.

The Pink October Lunch Bazaar, held at the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel, was indeed a great bundle of fun and educational activities with fund-raising purposes. Asian Tigers Malaysia is proud to be a part of such a meaningful initiative for combating breast cancer and the well-being of the community. It not only generated money and awareness but also brought about solidarity and hope, bringing closer to the awareness that unity always has the power to take one through for a noble cause. Such was the success of the Pink October Lunch Bazaar that it sets precedence and inspires future drives with the assurance that all the united efforts against breast cancer are all worthwhile.
