Asian Tigers Group Singapore achieves STP-Plus certification from Singapore Customs

Asian Tigers Group is the first moving company to be STP-Plus certified by Singapore Customs. 

The Secure Trade Partnership (STP) certification is a voluntary programme with standards consistent with the World Customs Organisation (WCO) SAFE Framework of Standards to secure and facilitate global trade. 

The programme encourages companies to adopt robust security measures in their trading operations to improve global supply chain security. By participating in the programme, a company demonstrates commitment and willingness in keeping the supply chain secure. 

STP-Plus certified companies also enjoy additional facilitation through the Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs) with Singapore’s trading partners. The certified status of a STP-Plus company will also be recognised by the MRA partner country. 

What does this mean for you? 

Singapore has signed and operationalised MRAs with: 

Canada (2010) 

• Republic of Korea (2010)
• Japan (2011)
• People’s Republic of China (2012) 
• Taiwan (2013)
• Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (2014) 
• United States (2014) 

As Asian Tigers is STP-Plus certified, all Asian Tigers shipments heading to Singapore from these countries enjoy the following benefits: 

• Cargo is less likely to be inspected locally
• Recognised as a lower risk company
• Reduced inspection or expedited clearance
